Introduction to the Law Department of Lorestan University
The Law Department of Lorestan University, as one of the leading departments in the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, plays a fundamental role in training specialized and efficient personnel for the administration of society. Law, the backbone of social order and the guarantor of justice, helps maintain balance and security in society by regulating the relationships of individuals, institutions, and the government. This field serves not only as a guiding light for the realization of citizens' rights but also as an effective tool in resolving disputes and advancing the goals of sustainable development.
The Law Department of Lorestan University was established in 2013 with the aim of meeting the scientific and social needs of Lorestan province. Lorestan province, as a "law-abiding" region, has always cultivated brilliant talents and enthusiasts in the field of legal studies. By utilizing this cultural capacity and the inherent talent of both local and non-local students, this department has been able to achieve remarkable honors throughout its years of activity. These successes include students achieving top ranks in entrance exams for Master's and Doctoral programs, as well as excelling in national scientific Olympiads.
Currently, with approximately 200 students, this department is one of the most populous departments in the Faculty of Literature and Humanities. In addition to admitting students at the Bachelor's level, it also trains students in the Master's program in Private Law. Furthermore, due to the high scientific capacity of the faculty members and the cooperation agreements concluded with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, this department has also provided the opportunity to attract international students from various countries. This action is an important step towards developing scientific cooperation with reputable universities in neighboring countries and other parts of the world and outlines a bright horizon for the internationalization of Lorestan University.
The Law Department of Lorestan University has eight experienced faculty members (consisting of seven assistant professors and one instructor) who are specialized in various legal fields: four in the field of private law, two in criminal law, and members also active in the branches of public law and international law. These distinguished professors are graduates of reputable Iranian universities such as the University of Tehran, Shahid Beheshti University, Allameh Tabataba'i University, and Imam Sadiq University (PBUH), and with their experience and knowledge, they play an essential role in training the future generation of jurists and researchers of this land.
It is hoped that the Law Department of Lorestan University, by continuing its path of scientific progress and strengthening national and international collaborations, will be recognized as one of the educational and research hubs of law in the west of the country and will have a lasting contribution to the promotion of justice and citizens' rights.
