Introduction to the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, University of Lorestan

The Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Lorestan was established in 2003 with the admission of students in the Bachelor's program of Arabic Language and Literature. In 2007, the Master's program in Arabic Language and Literature was also established in this department. In 2009, the admission of students in the Master's program of Nahj al-Balagha also began in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Lorestan. With the completion of the faculty and the promotion of some members of the department to the rank of associate professor and professor, the doctoral program in Arabic Language and Literature was also established at the University of Lorestan in 2011. The translation specialization in Arabic language at the undergraduate level was also added to the group's fields of study in 2019, and thus the number of fields of study in this department at different levels reached 5.

Currently, the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Lorestan consists of 8 full-time faculty members, in various fields of study and specializations:

Approximate Statistics of Students and Graduates

The Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Lorestan currently hosts 175 students in the Bachelor's program, 104 students in the Master's program, and 29 students in the doctoral program, and hosts dear Iranian and international students.

The approximate number of graduates of this department is also about 900 in the Bachelor's program, 300 in the Master's program, and 40 in the doctoral program.

Among the prominent scientific and cultural figures among the faculty members of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, we can mention the former president of the University of Lorestan, Professor Dr. Ali Nazari, as well as Mr. Dr. Seyed Mahmoud Mirzaei Al-Hosseini, the former president of the Noorabad branch, and Seyed Esmaeil Ghasemi Mousavi, the head of the Persian Language Education Center for Non-Persian Speakers (Azfa).
